Pink Freedom™ is a hardy shrub rose introduced by Weeks Roses and distributed by Spring Hill Nursery. Bred by Christian Bedard, the rose forms a bushy plant with vibrant, semidouble blooms: clear pink petals that open wide to reveal a sunny yellow center. According to The Rose Journal blog, Pink Freedom™ is winter hardy to USDA Zone 4, grows about 4–6 ft tall and 3½ ft wide, and performs well as a landscape rose. The cultivar was recognized by the American Garden Rose Selections (AGRS) program for its performance in multiple regions of the United States.
Pink Freedom™ thrives where summers are hot and humid—conditions common in the Lower Midwest and Ohio Valley. The rose’s success in these areas stems from several factors:
According to The Rose Journal, Pink Freedom™ grows 4–6 ft tall and about 3½ ft wide. This size allows it to function as a shrub or hedge in landscape designs.
Pink Freedom™ is winter hardy to USDA Zone 4, meaning it can survive temperatures as low as −30 °F (−34 °C). Gardeners in warmer zones (Zones 5–9) can also grow it successfully. In very hot climates (Zone 9–10), provide afternoon shade and consistent moisture.
Pink Freedom™ is relatively low maintenance, but following good rose culture will ensure the best performance:
