Looking for arborvitae that won't overtake the skyline? Techny is a dwarf, broad-based, upright arborvitae that matures at 10-15 feet tall. Perfect for a windscreen behind a single-story home, this smaller hedge plant is the perfect living fence. Among arborvitae, Techny is notable for rich, dark green foliage that doesn't yellow in winter. This hedge also tolerates, clay soil, black walnut, air pollution--anything your neighborhood throws at it--so long as it has adequate water. On mature branches, the attractive red-brown bark exfoliates for an added touch of texture. Techny Arborvitae is no insta-shade plant, and, although it has a slower growth rate than other compact hedges, it tends to live happily for over 30 years. Thuja occidentalis 'Techny'
