Suzanne Variegated Weigela gives gardeners a softer take on variegated shrubs, with green leaves edged in a fine white line and masses of pink and white flowers. Growing about 4–6' tall and wide, it brings a full, rounded look to foundation plantings, mixed borders and informal hedges.
Enjoy a Longer Spring Flower ShowIn late spring to early summer, Suzanne produces tubular flowers in both pink and white on the same plant. The bloom period can extend 6–8 weeks, giving your garden a gentle, lasting display instead of a quick burst of color. The mix of bloom shades creates a natural, blended look that works well in front-yard and high-visibility plantings.
Keep Interest After BloomThe foliage carries the shrub after the flowers finish. Each green leaf has a very fine white edge, adding brightness without the bold, busy look of heavier variegation. That softer margin helps the shrub stand out against darker evergreens, fences or shaded backgrounds while still blending easily with nearby perennials and shrubs.
Fill Space Without Constant ShapingSuzanne matures into a dense, broadly rounded shrub with a slightly arching habit. It has enough size to anchor a planting, but stays manageable for home landscapes. Use it as a single accent, repeat it along a property line or plant it in a loose hedge where its variegated foliage and spring flowers can be enjoyed together.
Grow With Simple Seasonal CarePlant Suzanne in full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. It tolerates clay, loam or sandy soil once established. Because it blooms on old wood, prune or thin right after the main flowering period if shaping is needed. That timing helps preserve next year’s flower buds while keeping the shrub in bounds.
