Strawberries & Cream Carpet Phlox brings a fresh, true bubblegum-pink color to sunny spring gardens. This patented hybrid phlox forms a low, cushion-like mat about 4" tall, spreading to 18" wide by its third year, making it a beautiful fit for borders, rock gardens and open, well-drained spaces.
A pink you do not often see in carpet phlox
The color is the standout benefit. Instead of the common tones seen in many Phlox subulata selections, Strawberries & Cream offers a clear, bubblegum-pink bloom that feels bright, clean and garden-ready. At peak bloom, trial plants were about 90% covered in flowers, giving you a full spring display without needing a tall plant.
Low color where the garden needs it
Its prostrate, freely branching stems hug the ground and follow the natural shape of the landscape. Use it along paths, over low walls, near stonework or across sunny slopes where you want color that stays close to the soil and keeps the view open.
Texture that keeps working after bloom
The narrow, needle-like foliage creates a fine, mossy look from a distance. In much of its Zone 4–8 hardiness range, the foliage remains semi-evergreen to evergreen, so the plant continues to add texture after the spring flowers have finished.
A practical choice for sunny, well-drained sites
Once established, Strawberries & Cream Carpet Phlox is drought tolerant and grows best in lean, well-drained soil. Its hybrid background adds tolerance to higher pH and salt, giving gardeners more flexibility than many standard carpet phlox varieties. Lightly fragrant, tubular flowers also welcome butterflies, skippers and long-tongued bees, adding welcome movement to the spring garden.
