Open Your Eyes German Iris is a standout in the garden for its vivid pattern, compact size, and strong fragrance. This Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris features bright white standards and falls, with each fall displaying a bold, inky-blue spot that varies slightly from bloom to bloom. White darts near the throat add even more contrast. Blooming in mid to late spring, this variety grows to about 15 inches tall and performs beautifully in front-of-border placements, rock gardens, or tucked into small garden spaces.

Bold pattern on a compact frame

Each 4-inch bloom features a large, irregular dark-blue blotch set against clean white petals. The standards and style arms remain pure white, while the falls show that signature inky color that gives the iris its name. White darts at the throat pull the eye inward, highlighting the flower’s unique structure.

Highly fragrant spring performer

Unlike many dwarf varieties, Open Your Eyes is known for its strong, sweet scent. That fragrance adds an extra layer of interest, especially when planted near paths or patios where it can be enjoyed up close. This is a variety that engages more than just the eyes.
