Little Lime® Hydrangea gives gardeners the beloved lime-to-pink color of larger panicle hydrangeas in a more useful size. Growing about 3–5' tall and wide, this compact shrub fits beautifully into foundation plantings, mixed borders, low hedges and large containers.
Fit Hydrangea Color Where Larger Shrubs Won’t
Full-size panicle hydrangeas can be too large for today’s smaller landscapes. Little Lime® solves that problem with a rounded, compact habit that brings big hydrangea beauty to tighter spaces. Use it near walkways, patios, entries or front-yard beds where you want strong flower power without a shrub that overwhelms the planting.
Enjoy Blooms That Stay Upright
Little Lime® has sturdy stems that hold its flower panicles well, even after rain. That means the display stays neater and more polished, instead of flopping over nearby plants or spilling into paths. The balanced flower size also helps the whole shrub keep a full, attractive shape through the bloom season.
Keep the Color Changing for Months
The cone-shaped blooms open fresh lime green in early to midsummer, then shift to creamy white, soft pink and burgundy tones as fall approaches. Because the flowers age at different rates, one plant can show several colors at once. That gives your garden a longer, more interesting display from July into September.
Count on Easier Hydrangea Success
Little Lime® blooms on new wood, so late-winter or early-spring pruning will not remove the season’s flowers. Its bloom color is not managed by soil pH, so you do not need to adjust the soil to get the intended lime-to-pink progression. Plant it in full sun to part sun with moist, well-drained soil, then cut stems for fresh or dried arrangements when the blooms are at their best.
