You may have seen alternanthera in a public garden before. It's very versatile as it responds well to pruning. It can take strong winds, rains and summer's heat and still look lovely. The nice bushy habit is a great filler for borders and container gardens. That yellow and green foliage pops especially well at the front of a flowering border, and as it grows to just 8" tall, it won't block your view of the blooms. This alternanthera requires part shade so it's great for adding bright color to a woodland garden, or shady patio. Alternanthera ficoidea 'Aurea Nana'
