This joyful Macrophylla Hydrangea features large, green flower clusters that open in spring with pink spots and splotches, then mature to show off even more pink and purple. Finally, your hydrangea will transform into a pinkish-flowered plant with green undertones and bright green foliage by high summer. In fall, that green foliage turns to a blazing red before the leaves drop.
This Hydrangea beats the picture of Macrophyllas as finicky plants. Froggie's blooms won't wilt in zone 8 heat, and this plant is highly resistant to powdery mildew. With a dense, compact habit, Froggie is perfect for patio containers or works well as a low, conversation starting hedge. This is an easy-to-love variety. For best results, apply a slow-release fertilizer annually.
