The paint strokes of bright color on Fashion Monger's outer petals may be the first thing to catch your eye. However, once there, you'll notice the intriguing, trend–setting flower form. This is a collarette type dahlia—so called for the little collar of petals in a ring around the center. The extra petals make for added interest in a fluffy, more unusual form of dahlia in the home garden. This dahlia blooms in mid to late summer and sometimes into fall. So it is a good variety to plant among other dahlias to extend the season. Also, the blooms on this dahlia are a little lighter, so it's easier to grow in a container garden without needing to stake. Find the perfect decorative pot to match those blooms and you'll have the most gorgeous potted plant.
