Chris Hanson is a deft hand at ajuga breeding. He's come out with many of the varieties we love the most, so we were excited to learn about Feathered Friends™ Fancy Finch—the brand–new, colorful ajuga to the market in 2021. Ajuga is a handy plant to fill in with as a ground cover, because it makes a dense mat that'll suppress weeds for you. Not only will it save you time weeding, it's low maintenance and easy care, so Fancy Finch will rarely ever make it onto your to–do list. It'll also go nicely in a border, container or rock garden. In cooler climates it's winter hardy, and in warm places it's evergreen—keeping your landscape bright and colorful throughout the year. What's possibly most exciting about Fancy Finch, is what it does in the color department. The gorgeous bronzy tones that'll fit in most any garden palette. In the sun it'll stay towards orange shades, but if you're looking for that really dramatic tricolor, you'll want it in a little shade. That's great news for those who are hoping for a good, reliable pop of color in a lightly shaded spot, like a woodland garden. Ajuga 'Fancy Finch' PPAF
