These drought-tolerant, very hardy plants thrive in full sun with almost no maintenance. Rosettes of succulent leaves form a tight ground cover, great for containers. Hens & Chicks simply need plenty of sunshine and great drainage, in fact, they make great companions to other rock garden plants. The 'hen' will spread by producing self-rooting 'chicks'. Then the hen produces a flower and fades, giving room and energy to the new chicks.
