This unusually attractive phlox is difficult to come by and is believed to be a natural cross of two equally desirable phlox varieties. It was first discovered as a wildflower in the state of Georgia, USA. What makes it so special is the dense mat of shallow-rooted foliage that thrives in the shade, making it the perfect ground cover for early spring-flowering bulbs. Once established, it produces an abundance of blooms in loose clusters on wiry, 10-12" stems that appear to float above the ground. Flowers are a pale lavender-blue color with pink eye zones. Phlox divaricata subsp. laphamii 'Chattahoochee'
