  • The first and only double flowering buddleia in the United States
If you love blue flower pigment and butterflies in the garden, this cultivar is the top of the class. Most other butterfly bushes that are categorized as blue carry quite a bit of lavender in the flower pigment, much like Blue Chip Buddleia. This cultivar has a purer blue than we've ever seen before. It adds a cooler, more refreshing tone to the sizzling summer garden. The individual blooms on each panicle are much larger than those on your average butterfly bush. Plus, they are often semi- or even fully double--so the flower form is just as unique and showy as the bloom color. Due to the genetic diversity in this cultivar, the flowers are about half as fertile as conventional butterfly bush varieties, so you get reduced seedlings around the plant. All this happens above a compact, tidily rounded habit--great for adding structure to a low border. Blue Ribbon will also enhance the whole garden by drawing in beautiful, fluttering butterflies. It is brand-new, exclusively a Spring Hill variety and in especially small supply, so if you've fallen in love like we have, please don't delay. Buddleia 'Blue Ribbon'
