  • Cream–colored flesh is honey sweet
  • Flowers open late, avoiding frosts better
  • Begins bearing fruit earlier than most
This is a freestone apricot—the pit doesn't cling to the flesh, so it's easier to remove, great for projects like making preserves and for quick fresh eating. If you're like our research team, you'll be tempted to eat them all up fast. The rich, honey–sweet flavor makes Sugar Pearls apricots some of the best we've ever tasted. The color is unique too, creamy white instead of the normal yellow–orange hue. It'll bear fruit and a young age, so you won't have to wait quite so long to reap the rewards. Sugar Pearls is more reliable as a blooming accent too, because the flowers open later in the season than most, avoiding damaging frosts better. For the best yield, you'll want another late–blooming variety in the area. Prunus armeniaca 'Sugar Pearls' PP18639
