This squirrel proofing is as fun to watch as it is useful in outwitting squirrels. It's a lot less time and effort than greasing the poles, plus it won't harm squirrels like grease can. The kit includes two plastic zip ties, so you can easily hang it on a shepherd's hook or birdhouse pole. It'll fit around poles up to 1" in diameter and stretch to 48" long. When squirrels try to climb, it'll swing them smoothly back to the ground, which we admit is pretty entertaining. The Squirrel Defeater Spring is metal, so it'll last longer than the plastic versions we've seen. While this will prevent climbing, be sure to keep your birdfeeder away from trees and other structures squirrels can jump from. These little acrobats can jump about 9' to the side and 4' up.
