All Summer Beauty is covered with big, bold blooms of deep blue (in acid soil) or soft pink (in alkaline soil) beginning in midsummer and often continuing until frost. This shrub reblooms each year because flowers are produced on both old and new wood, unlike regular hydrangeas that produce only on old wood. Plants grow 3-5' tall. Just right for mixed borders or a low-growing hedge. Sensational for bouquets! Hydrangea macrophylla 'All Summer Beauty'

Zones 5-9 - Shipped in 4" pots - Full Sun to Partial Shade

Height/Habit: 3 - 5'
Spread: 3 - 5'
Spacing: 4 - 6'

Foliage Type: Rounded, dark green leaves with coarsely toothed edges.
Flower Form: Nearly spherical flower heads of numerous sterile flowers.

Flowering Date: Begins mid summer.
Planting Requirements: Best in morning sunlight and afternoon shade.
Soil Requirements: Well drained, moist soil is preferred. Flower color will change if soil is treated.
Growth Rate: Fast

Unique Characteristics: Large, bold flower heads. High flower count and long bloom period. Enjoy a deep sky blue in acidic soil or soft pink in more alkaline soil. Very hardy, great for more northern gardens because this variety flowers off the current season's growth where other 'mophead' varieties have flower buds form on previous year's growth. Harsh winters are not a problem for flower production. High flower count and long bloom period are its key points.
Pruning: To shape.
Time of Pruning: After flowering.
Additional Information: Add aluminum sulfate to your alkaline soil to achieve blue blooms (pH about 5.5). For pink blooms add lime to acid soils to raise the pH to 6.5 to 7.5 range.

Beautiful Blue
Reviewed By:  Donna Rushneck (Carnegie, PA)
I would like to say that I purchased 12 Blue Hydrangeas from Springhill about 20 YEARS ago. I planted them under the canopy of pine trees aand they were always beautiful. Some years they had more blooms than others but were always good. Several times when I was out in the yard people would stop their cars and ask what I did to make them so beautiful with so many blooms. We moved this winter and sadly I had to leave them at the house. However, I did drive by and they were again covered with blooms. I plan to buy some for our new home.

Hydrangea location

Hydrangea's are fussy. They do not like direct sun. We have one of these and it loves the north and northeast side of the house. Early morning and late afternoon sun.

I bought 5 hydrandeas last year and they never produced 1 flower. Very disappointed.
