I ordered 3 of these in the spring of 2007. They came as bare roots and I planted them right away in my north facing garden off the porch. Wow! Within 2 weeks I had stems with foliage coming up! The plants were nice and tall and pretty bushy. I trimmed them back the following spring and they returned quickly and I had 5 to 8 plumes on each one. I highly recommend this for your shade garden. There's more for the shade than just hostas and ferns. Go for it- great product!
