Botanical Name:   Hosta undulata var. albo-marginata (sieboldii)
 
Form:   Herbaceous perennial
 
Sun Exposure:   Shade/Partial Shade
 
Height/Habit:   15 - 24"

Foliage Type:   White edged leaves (elliptic ovate to elliptic lanceolate), 4-5 nerves down each 6" long side of mid rib.
 
Flower Form:   Tall scape of funnel shaped, 2" long blooms.
 
Flower Color:   Pale lavender.
 
Flowering Date:   Late summer.
 
Planting Requirements:   Spread roots horizontally with bud tip 1" below the soil surface. Use slug bait first thing in the spring. Slugs love Hosta.
 
Soil Requirements:   Well drained humus rich soil.
 
Growth Rate:   Slow to establish, once established spreads well.
 
Unique Characteristics:   White edged leaves, fragrant flowers. Best on a slope in wide drifts under undemanding trees.
 
Pruning:   Trim spent flower stems in late summer.
 
Additional Information:   Could plant with Helleborous, Filipendula, Astible or Native Wildflowers.
