Last year I bought a "Josee Reblooming Lilac" from Springhill. It has now been in the ground for two years. The plant has grown to ten times its original size! Like my other lilac bushes it bloomed in the spring. Now, as our Mediterranean weather pattern heats up into the 90's it is still adding new growth at a prodigious rate. In addition to the foliar growth I am seeing many partially opened and un-opened flower panicles appearing. This lilac is amazing. It is hard to get lilacs to perform their best in our dry, hot California climate. If I were to recommend only one Lilac to a fellow Zone 9 Gardener, it would be this one. This little plant is out performing the Lilacs that were planted when the house was first built in 1930. A hardy, constant performer.
