I have to agree with Bonnie - the plants were 5-7" tall and didn't look like much. I've planted them in April and now they are 4' tall!!! Just amazing. I'm hoping to see flowers next year. The only trouble I have is that one of the plants sent to me was wrong type of grass ( Fountain grass instead of Pampas). I've realized it only whe it has got greenish spikes. I am hoping to correct this now. But overall Springhill's plants are very healthy and I am a returning and happy customer!
I had ordered this grass in early spring. I have to admit I was disapointed when I got them... they looked half dead, 3 inches tall and I didn't think much was going to happen. I planted them and it is now July and they are about 2 feet tall and about 2 feet wide! I am very happy with them!
My grandmother bought this grass as a gift they are so beautiful and healthy. Not only do they grow fast they provide a summer privacy screen. I will order more of this grass. Be sure you check your zones before you order that has a big impact on what the plant will provide for you.
I purchased 12 of these in the Spring of 2007 to plant as a privacy fence. They grew quickly & are pretty as well as creating a privacy barrier. 2 of them died in 2010 of unknown causes. I just received the replacement plants last week at no charge to me when they became available to ship for planting this Spring. I rely on Springhill for almost all of my inground plants.
While this is a very pretty grass, it does have sharp edges on the blades. Our cat got outside and ate a blade, it cut through her stomach and embedded in her lung killed her.
I just wanted to update my review from July! It is now October and my Pink Pampas Grass is HUGE! No kidding about 4 feet tall and wide!! I cant wait 'till next year to see what the do!!
