i bought this plant for my tropical garden by my pool. this is first year does anyone know if it will bloom first year?seems to be doing well can't wait for the unusual blooms. i live in zone 9 also do i have to dig it out for the winter?

i have had this beautiful plant now for 5 years, it shows off such wonderful and vibrant color. i always have people asking me just what this plant is ! it also makes for a excellent cut flower....the color in it is just beautiful....i love it !
