Had this for 3 years now..and just starting to bloom for the season. Glad to see some orange in my garden which is mostly pink/purple. Like the shape and the birds like to sit on the spikes. Adds just the right zing to the back of the beds and fills in between spring/summer flowering of my other plants
This is a great plant. I've grown it in OH and WA, it can be a real center piece in your garden. One thing to note: When the flower first starts to bloom it looks similar to a spent flower, give it a couple of days and you'll see it really open up!
Mine bloomed from the first season I got them, that was five years ago! Now I have to divide them. This year the red is not as bright as in the past nor are the flower spikes as big. This is a wonderful plant and I get compliments all the time on it!
I have grown this plant both as a Nursey owner and as a home owner.I love this plant,It is easy to grow,in just about any area and soil content.I grew it in Tenn and am now starting to grow it in West texas where it is dry and hot,it has never let me down in looks and ease of use.It is a eye catcher for a drive or a accent piece in a garder setting.Deer avoid this plant and it is not prone to insect or other troubles.A very pretty bloom that is tall and full with a stunning moss like mounded base.I would say this is one plant i love to use in my landscaping as well as telling others about.
This plant gets a 5 star rating from me not only as a nursery grower with over 40 years of working in my own greenhouses but as a home owner.
Get this wonderfull plant and let others want to know what it is and how they too can get it.The cost of this plant is fantastic as to other's i have found with diffrent seller's.
