I boug in justht this plant as part of their Seasons of Beauty package and I am in love with this plant!! It is a little over tripled its size in juts around 4 months. What a gem! I was skeptical when I received such a small plant but no more!
Bought 7 of these in spring. One has grow about 2x2, two died (were replaced, and one of those died), and the other 4 are growing, but haven't filled out yet. We've had a harsh summer, so I think that hindered the plants. None bloomed this year, but have high hopes for next year.
I purchased two plants May 2009. The have doubled in size and they actually have blooms on them! I can't wait until next year!!! Thanks Springhill! I'm looking forward to purchasing more.
I potted my little 4 inch tall plant and it grew fast! As it grew it bloomed! The flowers start out white, then turned pink!
It got 3 foot wide and tall. For winter I
pulled it in garage, cut in back. First warm day I pulled it out and it came out quick and big again! Then I planted it in the ground and it's huge but has never bloomed again, I don't know why. I do fertilize with bloomer. But it's a shapely and beautiful bush and I will get it to bloom again.
Have had these for 4-5 years now and totally enjoy these carefree plants. They look great all season long and haven't been bothered by anything to date. The variegated leaves are beautiful on their own, but the blooms are spectacular over the entire plant. I just wish, as others have stated, that the description would be revised to let people know not to expect the blooming for more than 2 weeks or so in the spring. Still worth having, though, despite the shorter bloom season.
Wow, I planted the small stick of Weigela last fall and it is at least 6 times larger this year. It also was completely covered in blooms this spring. I can't wait until it achieves full size.
